Mariposa Launches Sunset Lounge
The Award-Winning Restaurant Offers
A Refined Sunset Menu and Extended Hours
HONOLULU – Neiman Marcus proudly announces that Mariposa at Neiman Marcus Ala Moana will launch its Sunset Lounge on Thursday, March 10 with a delectable of menu of appetizers, premium cocktails and wines and live music. The Sunset Lounge will be available on Thursdays, Fridays and Saturdays from 4 to 6:30pm (last call for food at 7pm; last call for drinks at 7:30pm).
The brainchild of Restaurant General Manager Alan Takasaki, the Sunset Lounge was a response to meet client demand beyond its popular all-day menu that is currently being served from 11:30am to 4:30pm daily.
“Ever since we reopened last June, our clients have been asking us to provide dinner service. This was a way to offer extended hours for those clients and to offer residents and visitors a way to enjoy some great food and drink while enjoying one of the best sunset views on the island,” says Alan Takasaki.
Mr. Takasaki’s concept for the Sunset Lounge is to offer an approachable but refined menu of appetizers with a hint of local flair. He and Chef Lawrence Nakamoto collaborated on the menu which incorporates local product wherever possible.
Located on Level Three of Neiman Marcus at Ala Moana Center, Mariposa Restaurant boasts a spectacular ocean view along with award winning cuisine. Chef Lawrence Nakamoto's menu features a blend of Neiman Marcus’ famous heritage cuisine fused with original Pacific bounty.
Mariposa has been awarded over twenty prestigious awards since it opened in September 1998, ranging from Honolulu Magazine’s Hale Aina Gold Award for Best Business Lunch and Top Write-In Vote for Best in Service to Honolulu Star-Advertiser’s People’s Choice Ilima Awards. Both annual dining awards are voted on by the publications’ readers and subscribers.
Mariposa is currently open for all-day dining from 11:30am to 4:30pm Sundays through Wednesdays. From Thursdays through Saturdays, it will offer its Sunset Lounge menu from 4 to 6:30 p.m., with last call for food and drink at 7 and 7:30pm, respectively. Mariposa will also feature live musicians during Sunset Lounge in addition to lunch service on the weekends.
